What is Paradise Valley?
A river valley inland from Aourir and Tamraght, where freshwater pools sit between smooth rocks and palm trees. You can swim, relax in the shade, have a tagine at a small cafe and, if you like, jump into the deeper pools.
How to get there
Paradise Valley is about 30 minutes’ drive inland from Tamraght, along a winding mountain road. The easiest way is an organised trip with transport; with us it costs €30 per person and can be added when you book (subject to a minimum number of participants). From the parking area it is an easy walk of about 20 to 30 minutes to the main pools.
Best time to go
- Morning: fewer people and softer light.
- Spring and autumn: pleasant temperatures and often more water in the pools.
- Summer: hot and busier, but great for swimming.
- After heavy rain the river can be strong: follow local advice.
Cliff jumping safely
Jumps range from small rocks to several metres. Only jump where locals confirm the water is deep enough, never jump alone, and skip it if you are unsure. Swimming and relaxing are just as fun.

- Swimwear, a towel and water shoes or sandals with grip
